JGF 13, Marine Development Center
Welcome to JGF Tales and Reports Podcast Episode 013
This is our last Episode of JGF 1st Season. We’ll start the 2nd season August 4th, 2010. Please see our episode schedule link at top of page.
I had the opportunity to visit the CCA/AEP Marine Development Center in Corpus Christi (Flour Bluff) Texas and enjoyed a tour of the facility. I was greeted by Robert Vega, Rodney Gamez and Ruben Chavez where I received a terrific tour of their facility.

CCA/AEP Marine Development Kid Fish Ponds
Studies show that approx. 15-17% of fish raised in the hatchery survive to adulthood in the local Texas Bays. The Marine Development Center’s research team have been able to determine a more true value of the impact our local hatcheries provide by using genetics.

These paddle wheels above are used to prevent a pond from crashing by aerating, donated by SEA. CCA and SEA and others have contributed to improving this facility over the years and have been greatly appreciated in continuing and improving conservation of our local fisheries.

JGF 011, SEA Founders Reunion
Welcome to JGF Tales and Reports Podcast Episode 011
This weeks episode covers the Saltwater-fisheries Enhancement Association Founders 10 year Reunion.
But first I’d like to share with you a video made by Scott McCune, The Saltwater Cowboy. Scott was out fishing the Gulf recently and ran into a school of Killer Whales. It was awesome to view… Check it out:
That was so cool I was inspired to take the family out for our own Killer Whale Sighting.
Ok, enough of my nonsense. Scott McCune did a nice job of capturing the Killer Whales 80 nautical miles East of Port A. Very Cool. JGF has published a series of articles called Bay Fishing with Bait 101, by Captain Scott McCune.
